Like Never Before

Dear church family,

Corrie Ten Boom once said, “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.” A life that is intent on helping others, healing others, and blessing others is one that is truly well lived, and this is what I have seen in you!

As a result of your generosity to WACC’s ministries, the completed WACC campus is now bustling again each week as we welcome hundreds of new families and individuals, coming for the first time to find help, healing and blessing. In the past year, WACC has continued to see more and more guests who have arrived and shared with us that they have finally found their “church home”. We have witnessed many be baptized, find support in small groups, and begin living out their faith in service to God and others. One of the most exciting things to me is that this life transformation has been happening in both English and Spanish.

Throughout a truly “like never before” season of 2020 and 2021 in our world, God did not stop blessing this church community, and you haven’t either. Specifically, because of many choosing to give to the Like Never Before fund at WACC, and through some special unexpected gifts, WACC has not only been able to pay its mortgage payment each month, but WACC has also been able to pay down almost $1 million in extra principle payments in the past year and a half!

That means, because of the ongoing faithful and sacrificial giving of many, WACC’s mortgage has dropped from $10.2 million in 2021 to now $8.7 million! This equates to paying off WACC’s loan two years earlier than scheduled.

If giving continued at this rate, so we can pay the same extra principle each year, WACC would be able to pay off its mortgage early in 2030, which would save WACC a total of over $2 million in interest. This is something I pray we will see become a reality.

I wanted to share this news with you to celebrate how God continues to provide and bless, but also to make sure to say THANK YOU to you- for your continued sacrifice, support, and belief in what God is doing through the ministry of Whittier Area Community Church. During these uncertain days, you have chosen to invest your life in ways that are changing families, saving marriages, transforming eternal destinies, and pointing others to Jesus. A life dedicated to such things is truly a life well-lived.

I thank God for you, and I am praying for you in this season!

Sincerely,

John Riley
