Dear WACC Family,
G.K. Chesterton once said, “When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.” As 2023 comes to a close, there is so much that God has done in our church family that I hope we take with gratitude.
We can take with gratitude the gift that 306 people publicly dedicated themselves to God in baptism this past year. This is the highest number of baptisms in any year in the history of our church family.
We can take with gratitude that WACC was able to give $349,113 to support families and individuals in need through the Benevolent Fund, and that WACC was able to pay down its mortgage by $838,545 this year.
We can take with gratitude that our church family welcomed over 9,000 people to hear the gospel on Easter Weekend, and that 475 kids attended VBS. There were 40 kids made first-time decisions to follow Jesus at VBS this year.
We can take with gratitude the continued growth of our WACC en Español ministry, our Youth Sports League outreaches, our Monday Night Support groups, and so much more.
I pray that as you read through this report you will join me in expressing gratitude to God for all the ways he has been active in our midst. I don’t take for granted the tremendous honor it is to be a part of this church family with you. Thank you for all the ways you allow God to use you to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus.
God bless you,
John Riley

KIDS
“At the beginning of VBS week, two of the girls in my group were crying and did not want to be there. I was able to console them both and by the end of the week, these girls completely changed. One of these girls could not stop singing and dancing with the worship team. The other girl was excited to come back and asked that next year I be her 5th grader leader. It was very sweet and reminded me of the power of kindness that God gives us all and how he soothes little hearts. I was reminded how God can work through us to help kids feel comforted and safe! God is so good and it was a joy to see the kids open up during this special week!”- VBS Volunteer

“The WACC Sports Ministry has been a huge blessing for our family. It grows truly special relationships between families for both the kids and the adults. My son has grown due to God loving coaches who take the time to pour into the kids with their encouragement and training of not only their skills but their hearts.” - Charyne, Youth Hoops Coach
